Your bearing is broken, can the four-wheel drive still run?
Publication Date: 2026-08-19
Fault phenomenon: When one of the four wheel bearings of the vehicle is damaged, you will hear a continuous buzzing buzzing sound inside the car while driving, and the faster the speed, the louder the sound. Generally, a slight buzzing sound can be heard from around 60km/h, and it is noticeable at speeds of 70 and 80km/h. At 100km/h, when talking inside the car, the voice needs to be raised, and there is a fine vibration sensation on the soles of the feet 2. After increasing the speed (when there is a loud buzzing sound), shift the gear to neutral and let the vehicle slide. Observe if the noise comes from the engine. If the buzzing sound does not change when sliding in neutral, it is likely due to a problem with the wheel bearings; 3. Temporarily stop and get off the car to check if the temperature of the wheel axle is normal. The method is to touch each of the four wheel hubs with your hand and roughly feel if their temperatures are consistent (when the brake shoe and pad clearance are normal, there is a temperature difference between the front and rear wheels, and the front wheel should be higher). If the difference is not significant, continue driving slowly to the repair station; |
